Physiotherapy Center | 4th year Capstone Project

The LAVphysio therapy center will provide physical treatment services through facilitating a functional space layout design. The concept design of LAVphysio will increase patient motivation to perform treatment exercise in the gym through implementing motivational psychological effects of colour in the interior of the center to create an enthusiastic atmosphere that will elevate patient mental and physical energy.

LAVphysio will also provide a relaxing interior to define their client luxurious experience throughout their treatment services. Relaxing design methods will be provided through material finishes, dimmable lighting, and implementing therapeutic acoustics in several treatment rooms for the ultimate soothing experience.
 

Furthermore, LAVphysio will ensure patient privacy by separating treatment rooms from noisy areas, controlling acoustics through material selections such as noise absorbent furniture, noise reducing carpet tile in the waiting room and treatment zones. Patient confidentiality will also be conserved through vision barriers in-front of treatment room entrances to maintain patient privacy and increase comfort.
 

LAVphysio will also provide universal accessibility access entrances using ramps and automatic opening main entrances for wheelchair access. Accessibility is further provided through barrier-free universal washrooms, and elevating systems to the second level of the building. Circulation is also provided for ease of mobility in the space by creating wayfinding methods such as paths, edges, districts, nodes, landmarks, room numbers and signage throughout the facility.
 

Sustainable solutions are to be configured in the design by practicing sustainable everyday strategies such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste control, and providing eco-friendly material finishes such as reusable and recyclable furniture, low VOC wall paint, and composite flooring finishes.
 

Finally, LAVphysio design strives to ensure a unique concept that will change the view of physiotherapy
centers to a luxurious patient focused experiential treatment destination.
